This photo of children playing dustbins on a housing estate in 1962 is part of a series of pictures showing slum housing in post-war Britain. These photos were taken to highlight the economic difficulties many families faced even during the sixties. In London, much of the slum housing was destroyed by the Blitz however cities up North and in the Midlands continued to have large-scale housing problems.
