Iconic Pre 1900 impressionist painter Pierre Auguste Renoir's ‘The Swing’ was executed by Renoir in 1876 at the Musee de Montmartre gardens in Paris and features a young girl standing behind a swing talking to two men thought to be Renoir’s brother and friend. The light is rendered by patches of pale colour particularly on the clothing and the ground.
