Iconic Pre 1900 impressionist painter Pierre Auguste Renoir's ‘Dance in the Country ‘was commissioned by French art dealer Paul Durand-Ruel in 1883 and depicts a couple dancing under a chestnut tree. The painting was influenced by Renoir’s trip to Italy where took inspiration from Renaissance artist Raphael to create the bright and cheerful scene.
