Modern artist Egon Schiele was a major 20th century figurative painter from Austria who produced a plethora of vibrant paintings and drawings, the large majority of which depict the nude female form which marked him as an early exponent of expressionism. Schiele’s charcoal and tempera painting ‘Standing Girl’ as the female nude partially holds up a chequered pattern dress and shows influences of Klimt.
