Modern artist Egon Schiele was a major 20th century figurative painter from Austria who produced a plethora of vibrant paintings and drawings, the large majority of which depict the nude female form which marked him as an early exponent of expressionism. In 1914 Schiele produced ‘Woman Undressing’ which features a partially nude red-haired woman. To create this work the artist used charcoal, watercolour and opaque white on paper.
