Modern artist Egon Schiele was a major 20th century figurative painter from Austria who produced a plethora of vibrant paintings and drawings, the large majority of which depict the nude female form which marked him as an early exponent of expressionism. Schiele also created ‘Reclining Woman with Green Stockings’ which depicts his wife’s younger sister Adele Harms.
