Alphonse Mucha was a Czech painter, illustrator, and graphic artist who mainly worked in Paris, France. He was a key figurehead of the Art Nouveau movement. Taking up poster design for financial reasons, Mucha eventually established himself as a poster artist known for his distinctly stylised and decorative designs. Mucha produced this poster of a woman wearing a green and orange embellished outfit for Moët & Chandon, a French fine winery established in 1743 by Claude Moët.
