Tamara de Lempicka was a Polish artist who is best known for her Art Deco portraits and stylised nudes which blend refined cubism with a neoclassical style. In 1929 she produced one of her most famous paintings ‘Young Lady with Gloves (Girl in a Green Dress)’. Despite the distinct angularity of the painting, De Lempicka has still managed to make the fabric of the girl's dress looks like it is moving in the breeze. The streamlined geometric shapes and metallic surface also enhances the sophistication of the woman.
