Swiss born German artist Paul Klee was an incredibly proilific artist who created over 10,000 art works over his 40-year career, which is more than almost any other artist in history. Within this you will find watercolours, oil paintings, drawings, hand puppets and much more besides influenced by art movements like expressionism, cubism and surrealism. Paul Klee was both a talented musician and musical theorist. This work was one of his many landscapes made in the 1920s that reflected his passion for music. The irregular patches of colour resemble musical notes and the horizontal dark lines, staves.
