Jules Cheret was a French painter and lithographer who became a master of modern poster art. Cheret initially took up poster design to earn some money, but his unique style influenced by the works of Rocco artists lead him to create advertising posters for businesses all over the world. This poster features a lively woman flanked by the shadow of a man advertising the Palais de Glace, an ice-skating rink and social club in the Recoleta neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
