Painted in 1970, 'Cup and Pan Blues' followed the end of Ulster painter William Scott’s second period of painting pure abstracts. He only began to reintroduce obvious subjects back into his work in the late 1960s. Scott used different shades of blue to create each component of the piece. Produced in partnership with Tate and the Royal Academy of Arts.
