Amedeo Modigliani was an Italian modern artist and sculptor who mainly worked in France. In 1916 he was commissioned by his friend and art dealer Leopold Zborowski to paint a series of nudes. ‘Large Seated Nude’ features a woman sensually gazing at the viewer, her nude body partially covered by a piece of white fabric. The use of warm reds and pinks gives the work a sumptuous feel.
